I hope everyone had a fantabulous Christmas! I had fun, but I had to work! It's actually been a little crazy at work for the past few weeks. It's amazing how quickly people loose their Christmas "spirit" when they have to stand in line for 75 minutes to ride Indiana Jones. Or after the fireworks when 30,000 people are trying to exit the park all at once! Even with angry guests and all, I'm still having a great time. The only problem is that January is coming, and with that comes the slower season. So that means a cut in hours for me. Boo Hoo! I had my first celebrity sighting at the park. I love the TV show Friday Night Lights, and I saw the actress who plays the coaches daughter Julie the other night...pretty cool!
The other day I watched a great documentary about the Valkyrie plot on The History Channel. Now I really want to go see the movie. I've heard some good and bad things about it, but I think I need to go and decide for myself!

Deal of the Week

I think I may be the only person in America who watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip when it was on TV a couple of seasons ago. I don't get how people didn't love that show! It was a favorite, and I was seriously bummed when it got the ax. Once they put the series on DVD I decided I needed to make it mine. Only one problem...Amazon was selling the DVD for $45 bucks! To me, that's a lot to ask for a show that didn't even get a full season. But I loved the show, so I put it on my wishlist hoping maybe I'd get it for Christmas. Imagine my surprise when I go on Amazon the other day and the price of the DVD set has plunged to $12.99! I ordered it immediately. Which was good, because no less than 24 hours later the price went back up to $45. So I got a great deal, and now I'm watching Danny and Matt exchange witty banter with the Studio 60 gang....I LOVE good TV!

Polarized America
It's amazing to me how people have had such different reactions to the election of Barack Obama. I have a really good friend who is seriously worried about where we're headed as a country. It's just amazing to me that I can be filled with so much optimism and hope about where we're headed, and my friend can be filled with the complete opposite...is our nation that polarized? I guess the answer is yes. I was in the car today, and I flipped past Rush Limbaugh on talk radio. I decided to stop and listen to what he was saying. I was a little perplexed. He was talking about the Democratic majority in congress, and how the Republicans won't be able to stop Barack Obama. As if that should be their only goal in life. Not to worry about working together to pass legislation that will have an effect on the country, but to make sure they can stop Obama from doing what he wants to do. It just made me sad.
I wonder, can bipartisanship really work anymore?
I really want to believe that it can.
